So you are probably wondering what the red thread thing is all about.

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that when a child is born an invisible red thread connects that child’s soul to all those people – present and future – who will play a part in that child’s life. As each birthday passes, those threads shorten and tighten, bringing closer those people who are fated to be together. (you can see another version of the red thread myth here)

As a followers of Jesus we believe that God has chosen a child for us to adopt, and have no doubt that there is an unseen connection that we have with our future adopted child. For us, the red thread is a symbol of something that God has already done, but we have yet to experience. It is a reminder that just because we can’t see the connection doesn’t mean it isn’t there. And, it reminds us that He has authority and control over all things and situations, adoption included.
